Under Age 21
If you are under 21 years of age in Georgia and convicted of
committing any of the following offenses, your Georgia driver's
license will be suspended:
Serious Traffic Violations (Non-DUI)
(1) Homicide by vehicle, as defined by Code Section
40-6-393;
(2) Any felony in the commission of which a motor vehicle is used;
(3) Hit and run or leaving the scene of an accident in violation of
Code Section
40-6-270;
(4) Racing on highways and streets;
(5) Using a motor vehicle in fleeing or attempting to elude an
officer;
(6) Fraudulent or fictitious use of or application for a license as
provided in Code Section
40-5-120
or
40-5-125.
Georgia
Points Suspension (Under 21)
If you are under age 21 and are convicted of a traffic offense that
is a
4 point
violation, your license will be suspended.
Periods of Georgia License Suspension
If you are convicted of any of the above offenses, your driver's
license will be suspended as follows:
a) for a first conviction, the suspension time is six months;
b) for a second conviction, the suspension time is twelve months.
Periods of Suspension for DUI
If you are under age 21 and are convicted of for your first DUI,
your driver's license will be suspended for:
a) six months if your blood alcohol level is below .08 grams; and
b) twelve months if your blood alcohol level is .08 grams or higher.
Note that if you are under 21 and convicted of DUI, there is no
limited driving permit during the term of suspension.

Drivers Under Age 18
If you are under age 18, all the above information for drivers under
21 applies except for one thing. Where it takes a
4 point
violation to suspend the license of someone between
18 and 21, it only takes an ACCUMULATION of 4 points within a twelve
month period to suspend the license of someone under age 18.
Other License Suspension Offenses
If you purchase alcohol, misrepresent your age to obtain alcohol, or
use a fake ID to obtain alcohol, your driver's license will be
suspended. For a first offense the suspension time is six months and
a second offense is twelve months.
If you are convicted of driving a car while in possession of
alcohol, your driver's license can be suspended on a first offense
and will be suspended on a second offense. Note that simply
possessing alcohol is not a license suspension offense.
